Jack Wilson described himself as “the quiet painter.” He spent more than 30 years painting simply for the love of it. His work celebrates the beautiful intricacies of natural vistas as well as the quaint and unassuming snapshots of rural living.

Born in Topeka, Kansas, Jack grew up in Los Angeles, California and is now a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Upon retirement, Jack dove deeper into painting. He connected with the artists at Left of Center Art Gallery in North Las Vegas. He credited much of his artistic growth to his association with the other talented artists there.

Jack’s inspiration came from his deep appreciation for the beauty of God’s work, emotionally relevant moments in time, and the scenic value of old shacks on southern roads that he refers to as “custom homes by individuals.” Many of the images that he chose to depict are those that found him by happenstance, things he might see on television, or images of friends’ vacations.

Jack always encouraged others to pick up a brush and express their feelings on canvas. “Take a class and try it. You’d be surprised at the talents you may have.”
